Jenna – Permanent Resident- In Need of Sponsors!!

Jenna is a 30- year-old Quarter Horse who stands at 14.5 hands tall. Jenna came here with Cody the palomino back on May 12, 2022. This was a personal situation as the owner of these two horses passed away unexpectedly at the age of 69. The owner often came to the rescue to help around when he could and sometimes even donate. He always kept saying “If anything happens to me, please take good care of my horses” when visiting the rescue. He was a great man who will be missed dearly! Without hesitation, when the family contacted us about the horses, we said we would take them in. If we didn’t say yes, it was a great chance that Jenna would have ended up in the Slaughter Pipeline since she is strictly a companion and her age. To keep great weight on her Jenna receives a large bucket of soaked alfalfa cubes, complete senior feed, and beet pulp. She receives this 2-3 times a day because she does not have many teeth anymore making it difficult to eat hay. She does try to chew the hay, but she only makes it into clumps, and they fall out of her mouth. She is listed as a permanent resident but can be adopted out to the perfect family. She does have a sassy attitude but that is what is keeping her young! She loves to receive attention from younger kids, she becomes so respectful of their space along with being gentle.
