Sugarfoot – Crossed the Rainbow Bridge to Heaven

On May 18, 2016 the rescue’s senior girl – Sugarfoot – with the help of Doc G. crossed over the rainbow bridge and heaven gained another angel.  We loved our Grand ‘Ole  lady and she will be truly missed.  Sugarfoot was over 30 years old and her teeth were down to the gums.  She could not eat hay, but that wouldn’t stop her from standing by the hay ring to chew at the hay!  Sugarfoot would roll the hay in her mouth, into quibs, and then drop them in water troughs or onto the ground.  Upon arrival at the rescue, Sugarfoot was given an awesome feed mash 3-4 times per day

Sugarfoot had a hard life before she arrived at the rescue in 2013.  She arrived thin and afraid, but with love and care she turned into a strong-willed ‘ole gal who stood up for herself.

“Sugar, run girl run, run pain-free in the pastures of heaven.  Your big Belgian friend, Big Mack, will be waiting for you at the pearly gates.  Thank you for making our lives better.  We love you Sugarfoot! – LMHR”
