Nutmeg – Ready for Adoption – Light Riding
Nutmeg is a 15 year-old Quarter Horse who stands at 15 hands. Nutmeg was a local starvation along with his friend Mr. Ed. When Nutmeg arrived we automatically realized he needed to gain about 75lbs rather than Mr. Ed only needs to fill his back line. He was quite scared of lead lines along with being a little bit skittish. He has grown to learn that lead ropes aren’t dangerous but we are still building the trust between Nutmeg and lead lines. Since being here he has been opening up slowly but surely! He wants to receive attention from our volunteers, he was quickly learned that he loves to be brushed. If you could brush him all day I bet you he would. It is rewarding when gaining his trust it does take some time but he is willingly to try. He had a riding evaluation done and he is sound for only light riding. We are hoping that Nutmeg and Mr. Ed can be adopted out together since they came from the same place. Nutmeg would be great for pleasure rides, light trail rides would be great but nothing extreme.
