Louise and Thelma – Permanent Residents – In Need of Sponsors

Louise and Thelma were a local surrender case here in Linden. They were surrender to the rescue on October 9, 2020. Their previous owner was an older farmer who was not able to take these of Louise and Thelma anymore due to the number of cows he had and cost. They both have not been touched in 5 years, they were with cows on 200 acres of land. Upon arrival their hooves needed trimming. They are both permanent residents due to their rough past, they are still scared of everyone and everything. We have been working with them so they will learn that they will receive nothing but love and good food here! They love to do everything, and I mean everything together! They even must eat from the same feed bowl even though we offered feed in two different feed bowls. Thelma is more dominant and curious than Louise, we were able to pet Thelma within 3 days upon arrival while Louise was still deciding how she felt about us. They are both getting more comfortable with our volunteers and interactions with other horses each day! It is cute to see horses who never seen donkeys before reacting to them, without a doubt Commander Con the 19-year-old Standardbred Gelding is the most curious about them.
