Liza Jane – Adopted to Her Forever Home
Liza Jane is a 14 year old Standardbred who stands at 15.1 hands. She was a harness racer, her USTA name was “Surprize K”. Once they were done with her in the racing industry she went with the Amish. The Amish sadly lamed her then sent her straight to slaughter. In September 2016 Liza Jane was adopted out but she had a little surprise she forgot to tell anyone. April 16,2017 Easter Sunday Liza Jane gave birth to a healthy foal that was named Wildfire! The vet didn’t even realize that she was pregnant. She was returned back to the rescue along with her filly Wildfire and her owner’s other horse named Forest, he was a Quarter Horse gelding but he sadly had to be put to sleep. Her daughter Wildfire has been adopted out to her forever home in Montana. The owner was a 74 year old woman who was receiving help to care for the horses from her son who lived with her. Her son decided to move out making it too hard for her to handle on her own. Liza Jane cannot be ridden due to having a bad back hip. Most of the time you can hear it cracking when she walks. She has had an amazing forever home with Kathy H., where she can run in the sun all she wants!
