Joey – Currently in Quarantine- In Need of Sponsors
Joey is currently still trying to be identified by Race Funds. What we do know is he ended up in a horrible situation, ended up in a kill pen located in Texas. Thankfully, Race Funds was able to bail him out and get him quickly in quarantine. He is extremely skinny and needs a lot of TLC to get him back fully rehabilitated. While he is in quarantine he received a visit from the farrier. The vet also came out to take pictures of his right front ankle to see what is going on. The x-ray shows a lot of calcification but since there is so much fuse she doesn’t believe he is in pain. He will always walk off some in his front right. His front right leg is overall crooked and not much motion in his pastern or ankle. This is caused from an old injured and instead of receiving treatment he has learned how to compensate. From all of this he will only be a companion horse to ensure he is able to live most comfortable possibly. He is a gentle sweetheart. He enjoys attention and is totally soaking up the love he is receiving while in quarantine. We will continue to update his page when we learn more about him.
To follow Joey’s progress please check out our Facebook Page. We are accepting applications now but he won’t be adopted out until he arrives at the rescue and is fully rehabilitated.
