Meet Jackie, a 10-year-old, 14.3 hand Quarter Horse mare. Jackie was a Brood Mare for over 6 years. She was part of a breeding program that went under and several pairs of Mares and Foals were dumped at a kill pen. Upon arrival she was untouchable! Joe and Lynn, who foster for the rescue and have had Jackie in their care for several months, spent a great deal of time with her. Joe spent endless hours working with and training Jackie and she is very green – but Joe’s hard work transformed this previously untouchable mare into a promising horse with a bright future in front of her. Jackie is now back at the rescue and she is up for adoption. We would like to share our heartfelt appreciation to both Joe and Lynn for caring for Jackie and showing her love, affection, and devoting your expertise to get this gal on the path to her forever home.
