Gretel – Adopted to Her Forever Home!!
Gretel is a 5 year old mini mule. She and her friend Hansel a mini pony were an Animal Control case. Animal Control reached out to the rescue for help due to Hansel’s eye that was severely injured with a tumor growing on it. It was successfully removed! When she arrived she was very scared and timid, she did not want any part of human touch. Thankfully, our vet tech’s 9 year old daughter changed Gretel’s mind that all humans aren’t awful. She showed Gretel and Hansel lots of love and affection while they were at her house after Hansel’s eye surgery. When they returned to the rescue we saw a complete turn around from the both of them. They would follow us around asking for attention and love. Gretel definitely has some sass in her! She never tried to hurt anyone or any horse. She just had to prove that she was in charge even if she was less than twice their size, she even like to mess with our Belgiums here. She is like a vacuum when it is feeding time. She loves to clean up the scrapes left by other horses. We thought they were bonded since they arrived together but they showed us that they aren’t that close. They would do their own thing throughout the day. Gretel tend to hang out with the 3 donkeys here at the rescue. Gretel has found a wonderful forever home with Tina U. We are so happy for the both of you and we wish you the best making happy forever memories together!
