Festus – Adopted to His Forever Home

Festus is a 5 year old Donkey who stands at  hands. Festus had been severely neglected and abused. When he arrived at the rescue he was a skinny stud who was afraid of everyone. When arriving he wouldn’t move much in his stall we thought he might have bumped his leg in the trailer. We called Dr. Garrett to come check it out because he still wouldn’t move much. Turns out he was severely founder in both front feet. He also had to be treated for ulcers. He came back from being founder and healed normally. It was treated and he started to strive! Once he was rehabilitated back to a healthy weight he was then gelded. Before he was even gelding he was a pending adoption already because he won the heart of Crystal quickly. He has been adopted out to Crystal who has also adopted out Sterling and Beau from the rescue. He took quite a while to gain his trust but she was patient with him and now he adores her!
