Buddy – Adopted to His Forever Home!!

Buddy is a 4-year-old Donkey Gelding. Buddy is a local surrender case here in Linden, NC. He was abused by his previous owner as he was scared of us touching him or moving fast around him at first. He was gelded upon the arrival of the rescue which is why he was gelded so young. He quickly melted in our volunteer hands! He adores attention of whoever will show it to him. He loves to be brushed on and especially loves when he gets treats. We decided to make him a permanent resident here because of how friendly he is. He is great when younger kids or people who are still trying to learn how to trust equine. He doesn’t ever overpower you for attention as he kindly walks up to ask. He has a huge personality who loves to talk! He tends to wonder the pastures as he makes friends with all the horses. He is such a kind soul and a great addition to the rescue family! In the video Buddy was telling us it was time for dinner as he overheard a volunteer getting dinner ready. Buddy was adopted to his forever home on July 7, 2022. At first, we were going to keep him here at the rescue as an ambassador since he is so friendly. He was great for small kids to realize that equine are great! But with Thelma and Louise being adopted out to their forever home we didn’t want to break their friendship apart. He will definitely be missed since he loves to greet everyone and made sure everyone knew he was there. He was an amazing home who will show him nothing but love and attention now while he continues to help Thelma and Louise learn how to fully trust humans again. We appreciate you Buddy for everything you are doing for Thelma and Louise :).
