On July 1, 2016 the LMHR family stepped up and saved this sweet boy after one of our volunteers received a phone call about him starving. Within a few days he was dropped off at our rescue’s gate. One of our dedicated teenage volunteers has renamed him Zephyr. Zephyr, meaning a gentle breeze from the west, is a 14-yr-old Paint gelding who stands at about 15.3 hands. As you can see from the pictures below, Zephyr was vastly underweight upon his arrival. We are so pleased that through the care and love of Leilani Mae Horse Rescue and our volunteers he became strong and healthy.
As of October 2016 Zephyr has found his forever home along with his pal Happy. They are now both doing well in their new home with Katie L, near Cary, NC.
