Wanda – Adopted to Her Forever Home with Devlin!!
Wanda is a 13-year-old Quarter Horse who stands at 15.1 hands. She was saved a year and half ago when winning a bid against a kill buyer for $200 at the Lumberton auction on June 4th, she was rescued with Epona. Older untrained horses are set up for failure when taken to auction. Wanda most certainly would have gone to slaughter. Whoever tried to train her prior to coming here was very brutal. Wanda was abused with scars to prove it, the white dots on her back are scars. She went to professional training for 3 months and seemed to be doing great. She was doing trail rides, could even go through water. Wanda started to buck everyone that rode her off including rearing up with the trainer making it clear she has a back problem. We do not want her to experience anymore pain so she will continue her life as a companion horse. She needs someone to bond with her and create a special bond to gain her trust. It does take quite some time, but it is rewarding when she gains your trust. Wanda tends to be a loner or stay by the side of one horse. On November 7, 2020 Wanda has found his forever home with such a loving and caring family who also adopted Devlin out since they are so in love. They made themselves at home very quickly and we’re glad they finally got their forever homes as they deserve!
