Scarlett is an auction save after we out-bid a kill buyer. She arrived at the rescue on 9/28/2016 and may be a Thoroughbred X or Saddlebred X. Scarlett is approximately 8-10 years old and stands at 16 hands. This beautiful girl is trained to ride. Unfortunately there are signs that make us believe Scarlett was treated harshly. The corner of her mouth had an old tear – most likely from a bit (pictured). She looks as if her previous owner might have been preparing her for a horse show? She came to us with a half-roached mane, her whiskers cut, and her body clipped some. We believe Scarlett will rehab quickly.
Update November 12, 2016 – This morning Scarlett went to her new home! She was adopted by Rhonda M. and her daughter Natalie. They will continue groundwork and riding training with Scarlett, but most importantly they will love her and teach her to trust humans again. Thanks so much Rhonda and Natalie!
