Maggie, a two-year-old Paint, was adopted by Melissa L and her family. Maggie, Ashton and Chip will be sharing an amazing new forever home with a family of their own. Melissa, along with her two boys and husband, plan to let Ashton and Chip just enjoy their retirement life! Maggie, who was a LMHR favorite and loved by many, will also enjoy the good life! She will be sent to a trainer, once she is settled, and will make the best family horse for the boys when they are older! I have to say this trip was by far the best adoption case I have had with LMHR so far. It’s a bittersweet moment, when you watch these horses step off the trailer into their new pasture, and realize that they have a brand new life! Thank you to all of our sponsors, volunteers, and people who donate – you all had a hand in making this happen for these three horses. The truth is we can’t do amazing things like this without any of you. Welcome home Chip, Ashton, and Maggie! Nicole, LMHR Adoption Coordinator
Magnolia Mae (Maggie) came to the rescue as an owner surrender in April 2016. Maggie is blue-eyed Paint Mare who is about 2 1/2 years old. She currently stands at 14.2 hands but is the size of a long yearling. When Maggie arrived at the rescue she was very thin and infested with fleas and mites. She also had a respiratory infection and stomach ulcers. LMHR volunteers gave Maggie multiple baths, to rid her of the fleas/mites, and she received her first Exceed shot for the respiratory infection. Update June 2016: Maggie is healthy and has been slowly gaining weight. Before our eyes she is becoming the beautiful mare she was destined to become. She is an unbelievably sweet and gentle girl, who despite her past, loves the hugs and kisses she gets from visitors and rescue volunteers!
