Johnny Walker – Adopted to His Forever Home
Johnny Walker is a 13 year old Paso Fino Gelding who stands at 14.3 hands. Johnny Walker got his name because in the Kill Pen he was labeled as a Tennesse Walker but he is definitely a Paso Fino. Johnny was terribly abused, afraid of a raised voice or hand, and he would shake wondering if he would be hit or viciously hobbled. Once arriving at the rescue he was being treated for thrush in his heel bulb, this is one of the worst cases of thrush the rescue has ever seen. Johnny has a little food aggression but he would never bite, kick, or hurt you. He would just give you a little push but it wasn’t harmful, he was already concerned he wouldn’t get fed due to his past. He has calmed down significantly with his food aggression he is still improving. When a horse is food aggressive it does take time for them to get out of the habit. In the last few months he started to trust more volunteers here and we’re grateful for that! Johnny Walker has a wonderful home in Virginia!
