We welcome “Sooo Happy” (Jockey Club name) – Happy for short – who arrived on August 28, 2016. Happy is a 15-year-old, 16.2 hands OTTB Gelding. Happy came to us through the PA Kill Pen Network who were desperately trying find a rescue who would take Happy, and a sweet 12 yr old Quarter Horse Mare. Both horses were literally minutes away from being loaded for slaughter! After thirty days in quarantine, Happy and the QH Mare, were transported from the MD/PA border back to us by LMHR Adoption Coordinator Nicole and her fiancé Ricky. Nicole and Ricky are true horse advocates in every sense of the word.
Update October 2016 – Happy, and rescue horse Zephyr, were adopted by Katie L. near Cary, NC – pictured in the photo on the right. Thank you to Katie, and her family, for fostering Happy and Zephyr and giving them a safe and loving home.
