Update December 5, 2016 – Diego, a 14.3 6yr old Arabian X, was being fostered/quarantined locally by LMHR volunteer Megan B. Diego is now living at the rescue and quickly becoming a favorite of visitors and volunteers! Diego spent an extra week in quarantine because Megan, and her family, had grown so fond of him. Diego is green broke and a real sweetie. He will need some additional refresher training, but he’s another diamond in the rough, and one lucky guy to be bailed in the nick of time by Karen and Jim E. in Siler City, NC. We can’t thank Karen and Jim enough for saving this beautiful boy. Diego will be ready for adoption soon. Meet the amazing Diego, a 6-year-old, 14.3 hand Quarter Horse X Bay. Diego was in a feed lot with another horse that LMHR volunteers, Anja and Diana, were on their way to pick up. We received a message about Diego, who was bailed by Jim and Karen E., from NC, but had nowhere to go. Sadly it was ship day (shipping to the kill buyer) so we agreed to take him. Diego is currently being fostered by LMHR volunteer Megan who is taking wonderful care of him. Diego is green broke and is a total sweetheart! Aside from having to gain some weight, Diego is healthy and will be an amazing horse for that special person.
