Spirit is a 14-year-old Standardbred Gelding who stands at 16.3 hands. Spirit’s U.S. Trotting Association racing name is “Spirit Ho” who performed 55 stars earning $41,000. Once his racing career was over, he found himself in a Kill Pen. He was almost sent to Slaughter in Mexico but thankfully he was saved at the last minute! He arrived here at the rescue on October10, 2020. When he arrived, he had Amish Road shoes on that have clearly been on for a long period of time. He got his shoes taken off the following day and he immediately showed that he was relieved of the pain by running and prancing around. He is a nice mover without a doubt, he is a trotter. He is strictly a companion horse due having a slight stifle issue on one side. He is very kind-hearted even when first arriving he just wanting someone to show him love. He is a sweet guy who is just lucky to have another chance at life. He is a true love bug who loves to give love to any volunteers especially if you’re willing to give a good brushing in return. He is close friends with Piper a 13-year-old Thoroughbred. When he first arrived they were lovers but with their rough relationship they ended it and decided to be best friends. He is a kind horse who has such a nice demeanor! He does not have a mean bone in his body. He recently learned that Spirit makes funny faces when he waits for his food to be made!
