Precious – Companion Mule – Partially Sponsored by Jordan G.!!
Precious is a 12 year old Mule Mare who stands at 14.3 hands. Precious was one of the few horses who were a local owner surrender case. She was surrendered along with Tommi, Lupita, and Josie her mom. Her previous owner surrendered her because she needed help making sure she was well taken care of and safe. When Precious originally arrived we thought she was only 5 years old but the dentist looked at her teeth and said she’s around 11 years old. Precious had a tight halter on that was starting to rub her hair and skin off but thankfully it didn’t rub too much into her skin before we cut it off. Precious has a lot of personality in her! She loves to receive attention from volunteers and will do anything to receive it. She loves to stay close to Josie who is her mom but also loves to play with other horses. She loves to explore the property when she gets a chance to go into a different pasture. She loves to eat, you can often find her trying to clean up the bowls once everyone has gotten their serving of grain. She is super easy going. She is not sound to ride but she is a wonderful mule to teach young kids how to love equine. She has a locking stifle joint which causes her to every once in a while stretch it out for a few seconds. Once she stretches it out for a few seconds she is good to go then. Precious would need to be adopted out with Josie her mom since they are so bonded. She is being sponsored by Jordan G. who has adopted two horses here and has sponsored another horse before she was adopted! We truly appreciate the help Jordan and his wife has done for this rescue.
