Mr. Ed – Rideable for Light Riding – Fully Sponsored by Stephanie H.!!

Mr. Ed is a 17-year-old Palomino Quarter Horse who stands at 15 hands. Mr. Ed and his friend Wilbur were local rescues, their family could not afford to take them of them anymore which cause them to lose weight quickly. Mr. Ed arrived at the rescue with a nasty left eye that was attracting flies and caused him a great amount of pain. We had to wait some time before it could be removed due to him needing more weight to tolerate anesthesia. Once he was at a healthy weight, his eye was removed. With his eye being removed and completely healed he did a complete 360 as he became lovable and not skittish anymore. Upon arrival, Mr. Ed did not trust lead lines and was skittish. It did take a few months before he would fully trust us. Once Mr. Ed and Wilbur realized that they would only receive love and great food there was a shift in attitude, for good. He has had a riding evaluation done and he can be lightly ridden just for pleasure, would be great for light trail rides nothing extreme or just ridden around the property. They love exploring and it is always amazing to watch them explore. Mr. Ed is high on the pecking order but thankfully he makes sure his friend Wilbur is right by his side to protect him. Wherever you see Mr. Ed right by his side is Wilbur and vice versa! Sadly, Mr. Ed lost his closest friend Wilbur in March 2022 due to kidney failure. Mr. Ed has still been mourning his loss for a while since they were so closely bonded. Mr. Ed has not connected with another horse here at the rescue yet. We are hoping he can become his goofy loving self when he is adopted in his forever home. We believe he would do best with just one other horse so he has time to create a special bond again. Wilbur’s sponsor Stephanie H. was so kindly to now sponsor Mr. Ed since Wilbur’s passing. She shows love and support all the way from Alaska!
