Bentley – Companion Horse – Fully Sponsored by Lydia and Amy L!!
Bentley is a 15-year-old Standardbred Gelding who stands at 16 hands. Bentley’s U.S. Trotting name was “Message to Mum” as he won $20,000. After his racing career was over, he became an Amish buggy horse. The problem with Bentley being a buggy horse is he is not stout built he is quite slender making him lame quicker than other horses. Bentley has bone chips in his left stifle. It would be costly to get them removed and removing them is not 100% guaranteed that he will become sound, so he will continue his life as a companion horse. Sometimes when all the horses are running around, he wants to be apart it but, he cannot gallop like others, he is even off at a slow trot. To keep him comfortable and out of pain he is on previcox. Sadly, Bentley is low on the pecking order but has gained some confidence from becoming friends Ella the Thoroughbred and Hans the Haflinger Pony. Bentley is looking for his loving forever home! Bentley is a hard keeper. He is a sweet and gentle horse who only looks for attention. He adores our volunteers who take the time to brush him. He has a unique marking on his face that almost looks like the state of Texas. Bentley receives extreme amounts of attention and love from his wonderful sponsors Lydia and Amy L! They adore him so much and we appreciate them for loving the underdog! They come out frequently to show him love and spoil him lots.
