Beau – Companion Horse – In Need of Sponsors!
Beau also known as “Bobo” is an 19-year-old Paso Fino Gelding that stands at 14.3 hands tall. Beau came to the rescue on June 25, 2021 with Animal Control. They reached out to the rescue to see if we can take him in along with his friend Ladybug to be rehabilitated. He was extremely skinny being a 1 on the body scale. Not only was he malnourished he was also severely scared creating a mental barrier. He was so scared of any human contact and wanted no part of it. You could not pet him or brush him without him trying to get away from you. He would pin his ear back at us all the time. Even at times would raise his back leg as a threat but never actually tried to kick us. Thankfully, his friend Ladybug helped him learn how to trust us along with his own trusting as we were only going to feed them good and show nothing but love. It took a while but he has finally come around to humans and loving the attention. He loves to follow our volunteers around now and even ask for attention if you’re in his pasture. He is not sound to ride due to his stifle being ruined. This normally happens when a larger rider rides on a smaller built horses or just extreme heavy riding. He does take some time to learn to trust new people but once he does he is an extreme sweetheart. We are continuing to work with him to teach him that the mental barrier isn’t necessary anymore! He loves I mean loves treats! He has his best friend Ladybug and you can often find him playing with Johnny Walker who is another Paso Fino. Beau and Johnny Walker can play all day long, it’s amazing to watch them. Beau and Ladybug must be adopted out together as they are extremely bonded.
